Meeting Summary

The Society's annual meeting is held each fall in a major U.S. or Canadian city and attracts nearly 5000 scientific attendees and trainees, plus 1500 exhibit personnel (250 exhibiting companies), making it the largest human genetics meeting in the world.

Highlighting each annual meeting are symposia, workshops and other sessions focusing on important research and clinical developments in human genetics that are presented by prominent professionals selected and invited by the program committee. ASHG members and others are selected to present their research findings at platform and poster sessions. Abstracts of work submitted for presentation at the annual meeting are published online and are citable. The annual meeting also offers the opportunity for attendees to survey services as well as state-of-the-art medical and laboratory equipment, products, and computer software designed to enhance human genetics research, teaching and consultation.

The 60th Annual Meeting of The American Society of Human Genetics will be held in Washington, DC, from Tuesday, November 2 through Saturday, November 6, 2010.
